You’re going to see more ICE agents than you’ve ever seen before.

Wouldn’t it be something to see a New Yorker just walk up to an ICE agent and shoot them in the head? It seems to be what they’re trying to provoke. We already have 2 characters from Mario Party.

We have Luigi

Warehouse Luigi

Wonder who would be next. Warrio?

Is ICE still gone from Minneapolis? Or, did they pause, wait for the anger to die down, and now they operate with impunity?

They were never, and still aren’t “gone”. But they have scaled back operations significantly. At their peak, there were 4000 ICE agents in Minneapolis. The most current number I can find is “between 400 and 1000”. So that’s a pretty big change. They’ve reduced their presence by at least 75%, and best case scenario, they’ve reduced it by 90%.

Sounds like a good reduction, but maybe they already achieved their primary objective? What if they’ll go after the same result (incarcerating asylum seekers, legal immigrants, native children with undocumented parents, etc.), but at a slower pace?

I would say their primary objective was not acually deporting people. Their objective was to punish a city and state that was not demonstrating the correct level of submission to the fascist administration.

A slower pace is still an improvement. Is it perfect? No. Is the shit they’re doing still unacceptable? Yes.

If your doctor told you that you had a disease that was gonna kill you in a month, and then after more testing they said you actually have a year left, that would be relatively good news, yes?

Bad things slowing down is a good thing.

So, are you suing there’s an acceptable rate of constitutional violations that can be tolerated? That its okay for the assulum seekers to have the rug pulled, just so long as it is done slowly?

My fellow human, you literally quoted the part of my comment where I said it’s unacceptable. Remember where I said:

Is the shit they’re doing still unacceptable? Yes.

How could you possibly infer that I’m saying it’s acceptable from that?

I clearly stated that it’s not acceptable. You’re not gonna get a “gotcha” moment here by purposefully misrepresenting my point.

What I’m saying is that 10 victims is better than 100 victims. 0 victims would be the best, obviously. But an improvement is still an improvement, and progress is still progress.
