I have like one thing I use voice for usually. “Call <name>”. With Google Assistant, it reliably called that specific person.

Now that my phone decided to gemini, it will sometimes make a call, and sometimes it says something like “I have found one contact with that name in your contacts, their phone number is 1-555-555-5555” Sometimes with some extra language clearly intended to be stuffed back into context to guide some next step that isn’t coming, don’t remember but something along the lines of “Contact match added to context to enable dialing the phone now” or something.

I’m perfectly fine with a different wake word or chaining it to google assistant, “Hey google, ask gemini …” would be fine.

And yes, it might be vaguely useful for doing a maps search in the car, as that is a pain. A vaguely decent answer I can confirm is nice for things like a road trip stop for food or some small thing.

Photo printing is about the only thing I say I haven’t seen laser do, but the people in my family that appreciated printed photos over screens we would just order them printed to their local Walgreens instead of trying to mail them prints anyway. Don’t do that anymore either as they passed away some years back.

Trump didn’t make the leap to directly say to do that, but he did clearly think that strong lights and disinfectant in the body ‘should be looked into’. He was saved from directly making a terrible recommendation by having some amount of deference for the medical organizations, but did try to show ‘thought leadership’ in a very dumb direction.

It was not some sort of Stanford spinning up wild concepts, it was Trump taking very obvious things about how we handle these things outside the body and thinking that we would be the first to ask ‘but what about inside the body?’. Yes, he phrased it as a question to be looked into, but he clearly thought there could be something to it.

About the only credit you can give to first term Trump in this scenario is that he at least ultimately left health issues up to the health departments, even as he groused the whole time.
